Lisa-Marie Presley Has Decided To Walk A Mile In Her Father's Shoes

Although Lisa Marie has managed to keep her children protected from the spotlight, she has recently gone public with her own musical work.

Lisa has not chosen to go the route of acting at this time. However, she has gone public with several press releases and appearances on news programs. I was able to catch an episode of Primetime Live, which featured Lisa Marie Presley for a full segment.

The news commentator interviewed Lisa and asked her many questions about her life and her past. One of the things they did was show side-by-side film footage of Lisa Marie performing, alongside her father, Elvis Presley. The two performances were at least 25 years apart, in time, but were spliced together to view Elvis and Lisa singing and dancing to show similarities.

Although Lisa is unique in her own right, there are many uncanny similarities between her and her father. Let's face it, it's only natural for this to happen. And we love it!

The Way Lisa holds a microphone and moves around and gazes at the camera are strikingly similar to the way Elvis would sing and dance, and sneer at the camera himself. Lisa Marie Presley is undoubtedly very talented and has decided to reflect her talent publicly at this time. The video chosen to display Lisa Marie's singing ability was the main track from her new CD, To Whom It May Concern. The main track is titled Lights Out.

In fact, the film clip from the video, Lights Out, was the clip shown next to the film footage of her father, taken from Elvis' 1968 Comeback Special, featuring him in his black leather outfit.

Although Lisa was not dressed in black leather, her clothes were flashy, and her whole aura reflected that of Elvis Presley.

I think that even though much of the major public are not all that crazy about Elvis impersonator's, the music industry, and Elvis fans alike, are really craving an entertaining personality with the talent and charisma of Elvis Presley.

I believe that even though much of Lisa Marie's facial expressions, moves, and natural looks are very close to her father Elvis, the people are going to accept this because not only are these features completely natural, they are expected of any offspring of Elvis Presley.

Lisa Marie's personality, the words she chooses to use, her facial expressions, especially the way she would raise one eyebrow up, open her eyes wide, and gaze at the camera when pleasantly making a joke out of a statement, was especially reminiscent of her father but also very refreshing.

During a very intimate portion of the interview, Lisa Marie stated that she has had some experience with drug use. However, she went on to clarify that she now lives a pretty clean life, for the most part. She shared stories about her past marriages, her children, her mother Priscilla, and memories of her father, Elvis.

Primetime Live also showed some home movies of Elvis, Priscilla, and Lisa Marie in their home environment with Elvis spending time with his family, and playing games with them. As Lisa sat there watching it along with everyone else, her facial expression began to change from perhaps having her guard up and being ready for difficult personal questions, to one of gentle, sweet, memories and peace.

It is certainly very sad that Lisa had to lose her father so early in her life. She seemed to go through things in her life that reflected the pain and difficulty she experienced with losing her father so soon.

With all the difficult times in Lisa's life, along with the good times, she has come a long way personally and professionally.

Lisa did comment on her marriage to Michael Jackson, but didn't spend much time on the subject. She spent more time talking about her relationship and marriage with her first husband, Danny Keough. This is the first marriage during which Lisa had a child. Danny Keough also became a member of Lisa's band in 2004.

While Lisa was in her late teens, and early twenties, she was managed by Jerry Schilling. Mr. Schilling is one of the original members of the Memphis Mafia, who went on to accomplish a successful business career in show biz after Elvis died.

A piece of trivia that would be interesting to all. Lisa Marie Presley's children provided backup vocals for her on her recent CD titled, To Whom It May Concern.

Satellite Radio Shares DNA With MP3

When it comes to Sirius radio receivers, consumers have never had more choices available to them than they do today. From the very simple yet functional Stiletto 10 all the way up through the latest Stiletto 2, these little devices all have a variety of interesting functionality. For example, the Stiletto series is able to double as an MP3 player, in addition to being able to receive a satellite radio signal. For the subscribers, MP3 players with satellite radio capabilities are really the ideal way to be able to listen to their favorite broadcasting channels, from Howard Stern to Martha Stewart as well as the music stored from their home PC.

The top of the line in the Stiletto series of Sirius MP3 players is the Stiletto 2. The Stiletto 2 has a number of exciting and useful features. For example it features the ability to use either the satellite signal to receive broadcasting or to use any available Wi-Fi network. This provides the user with a great deal of flexibility. It can sometimes be difficult to receive the regular satellite signal when you are inside of large building for an extended period of time. The Wi-Fi option changes all of that, making sure that your access to Sirius radio is maximized. The Stiletto 2 even features a MicroSD slot that will allow you to bring your own MP3 library along with you.

The next in the line of Sirius MP3 players, the Stiletto SL100, has many of the same features as its new big brother. Like the Stiletto 2, it can access satellite radio via a Wi-Fi network and use the built-in MP3 player to record up to 100 hours of programming. I guess you could call it TiVo for your car. The SL100 does not have the MicroSD slot, however. Both versions in the Stiletto family have an option for a car kit, allowing you to use the Stiletto SL100 just about anywhere.

At the lower end of portable satellite radio with MP3 spectrum is the Stiletto 10 Sirius MP3 player. This basic model still provides the user with the ability to listen to satellite radio as well as play a limited amount of MP3 selections. Like the other Stiletto models, it 10 is portable, and can be used in your home, your car, and any other place that you are able to receive the Sirius satellite signal. Since the release of the new Stiletto 2, the availability of this model has been wearing thin. Keep this in mind if you are looking to move forward with this and understand that the Stiletto 10 is considered older technology and not as popular anymore. That being said, it is also possible to find good deals on these models now if you are more concerned with price and functionality.

Abraham Lincoln Depressed?

Whether we call it a disease, disorder, or state of mind; depression affects more than a hundred million people a year. According to the American Psychological Association, that turns out to be one of every five people have some form of depression. It's one of the leading causes of disability; in the year 2000 more than one million people killed themselves. However, mental illness is being treated more affectively nowadays then ever before. Stress is the leading cause to depression today, because many people don't know how to cope with daily stress.

Abraham Lincoln suffered from depression year after year. During the 1800's Lincoln was known to have suffered depression, anxiety and insomnia. Research states, it could be possible that Lincoln may have suffered from Mercury poisoning. Lincoln became extremely aggressive with severe mood swings, according to studies shown in the early 2000s. Lincoln's life depression began with the loss of many loved ones, as every as childhood. As a young child it was known that Lincoln lived to experience various traumas.

For example, Lincoln was known to be color blind. He also survived a near drowning experience, when he fell in the water at Knob's Creek, during a bird chase, his neighborly friend had saved his life. Once as a child, Lincoln was riding a horse one day when he lost his temper, whipped the horse hard and in return the horse kicked him; Lincoln suffered a concussion. One Historian suggests it may have caused a "petit mal" and possibly brought on attacks of transient aphasia, where Abraham would be in "another world" and fall into deep sleeps while visually awake. In 1841 Lincoln had a tooth pulled and the dentist broke a part of his jaw during extraction without anesthesia. And in 1863, Lincoln became ill with blotches all over his body, diagnosed with a case of small pox, which was highly contagious.

Lincoln's childhood derived from poverty, no educational background; he lost his mother and brother by the age of twenty one. First Lincoln was engaged to Anne Rutledge, Anne Pass away from Thyroid Fever, leaving Abraham devastated. Also, Lincoln was engaged to Mary Todd, which lasted until the very day he was getting married. Although he was secretly in love with another woman named Matilda Edwards. When that ended, his friends stated that Lincoln went "Crazy" and they removed all dangerous objects such as razors and knives from him. Next, Lincoln was reunited with Mary Todd and they married three years later. Over the next eleven years they had four children. With more children to come, a total of twelve but only two survived. Furthermore, the death of his son Willie was extremely difficult for him; everyone thought Willie was a clone to Abraham.

Lincoln suffered a great deal; however, it was well known melancholia was part of his history, his mother, sister and cousin suffered from depression. Based on written records and his friend said, "'Lincoln was suicidal,'' although there was never actual proof.

Lincoln was defeated, fired in political ability and state legislature, he was found insufficient. His demeanor, depression had become part of his mental and emotional state. (This was one of his many states of depression.) Then, Lincoln was elected President on November 6, 1860 and was sworn in on March 4, 1861. He had extremely emotional pressures; "loss of life," "battlefield setbacks," "assassination threats" and more.

Upholding his beliefs and commitments to the world, Lincoln had freedom within himself, I believe.

Boston - The Band

Named after their hometown, the soft rock outfit, Boston has a loyal core of fans. Boston the band was in its prime during the 1970s and 1980s but they have never really gone away. They are a particular favorite with radio DJs and their appeal cuts across the generations. The most famous song associated with them is probably More Than a Feeling.

As with most groups that have been around for a long time, there have been several changes to the line up. The only remaining original member is Tom Scholz and he founded the band Boston, plays on guitar and writes most of the music. Current members also include Gary Pihl on guitar, Jeff Neal on drums and Kimberley Dahme on bass. Dahme is the first female member of the line up. Scholz is also well known for his innovation in the recording studio and has designed his own recording and sound equipment. He is a perfectionist in the studio and strive to reproduce the best sound possible on stage.

The group has a habit of making platinum albums, including the debut from 1976. Called Boston, the album sold more copies than any other debuts in American history. The follow up, two years later, Don't Look Back, also reached platinum sales, as did the next two. Third Stage was released in 1986 and Walk On in 1994. A Greatest Hits release was another bestseller in 1997. In addition to the old hits, it contained three new songs. The latest album from Boston the band is Corporate America, which came out in 2002.

The single, More Than a Feeling, from the debut album, reached number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was promoted with a video of the group in concert. The song has been covered several times including a version by boy band *NSYNC. "Weird Al'' Yankovic has also done a parody of the song. It is featured on the PlayStation game, Guitar Hero.

There was a very emotional reunion for Boston the band in 2007 when Tom Scholz organized a tribute concert to former vocalist with the group, the late Brad Delp. Both current and past members of the band came together to celebrate Delp's life, playing their classic hit records. The concert, at Boston's Bank of America Pavilion, was a great success. Despite the circumstances, it was an uplifting affair for the band and their fans as they remembered the vast contribution that Delp had made to the band's success.

Japanese Developing Sex Robots

What propels human innovation? Well, we know where the funding comes from. We know that funding comes when a Return on Investment is available. What do people spend money on? Well, think of Maslows hierarchy of needs. People want to maintain self preservation, so you will find the greatest technological money flows in those things, which protect the sanctity of life; things such as Health Care and Medical advances, security and military. People also wish respect from their fellow man. They want to look good; thus you will find consumer items such as make-up, clothing, sports cars, etc. Humans also want companionship and entertainment and so we see advances in movie special effects, computer games and now the Japanese are developing human female robots. Today they advertise them as maids, receptionists and servers. But in the true spirit of Kama Sutra, you can bet that those Japanese robotic engineers will soon be designing Blonde Hair Blue Eyed sex robots to serve their will.

These Japanese scientists have unveiled the most human-looking robot to date, well at least in the public domain. Secret research is being done now which looks towards the future to build robots so real they will fool humans, in other words they maybe sitting next to you and you would never even know it. The Japanese scientists call their new robot android Repliee Q1 Expo. She flutters her eyelids in normal human increments, looks like she is breathing and moves her hands just like a human would. This robot has over 42 actuators. But indeed, this is merely the first step in human type robotics.

We all know that the Internet is used most in recreational use for surfing websites, such as pornography, chat, online dating and personal communications of the sort. It should be obvious that the near future of robotic androids will be used for sexual pleasure. Isaac Asimov and others have cited this as the most probable use. Not only have science fiction authors put these futuristic predicts forth but Hollywood has as well in several movies such as A.I. Artificial Intelligence.

Using tactile sensors and the latest Haptics research the Japanese scientists are well on their way to the development of their next marketable technology. The Repliee Q1 Expo has 42 actuators, but some of the MIT robots, will mimic the human nerves in the hand already have 250 sensors. New skin technologies will allow the robots to have real human skin grown in petri dishes and these might also be incorporated in the sexual revolution of robots. Buying a Guitar Instruction DVD

The population in the United States is hovering around 250 million. Of those, approximately 25 million play some type of instrument. For many people, playing an instrument as an adult started back in school days. Music is magical, the heart of the world, and the unspoken universal language. Two of the most popular instruments played are the piano and guitar although we see the number of people learning to play guitar on the rise due to convenience, affordability, and pleasure.

Because of the growing demand, many professional guitarists have created some type of guitar instruction DVD, bringing their skill directly into your home. Although you could learn to play guitar from books or even by being self-taught, the bottom line is that one of the most effective ways of learning guitar is with a high quality, guitar instruction DVD. Keep in mind that the two most important aspects of playing guitar include understanding the instrument itself associated with your body, and learning to play the right way from the very beginning.

The benefits of learning from a guitar instruction DVD are tremendous. You will have the opportunity to visually, see a professional in action, learning things such as holding the guitar the right way, finger positioning, chords, strumming, and much more. Whether you are a novice who has never picked up a guitar before, an intermediate player who wants to advance skills, or even a professional interested in learning new techniques, you can be sure there are many instruction DVDs on the market to help.

Another huge benefit of working with a guitar instruction DVD is the convenience. Instead of locating a private teacher and then paying the high cost to learn to play guitar, you can sit down in the comfort and privacy of your own home to learn at your own pace. Studies show that people who use a guitar instruction DVD actually learn quicker and retain information better due to the huge reduction of stress.

Keep in mind that in addition to different types of music such as acoustic, classical, or heavy metal, the instruction provided in each guitar instruction DVD will also vary somewhat. In other words, while the guitar is played virtually the same way, the techniques and styling would vary depending on the music being taught and the teacher him or herself. For this reason, if you know you want to learn classical guitar, we recommend you purchase a high quality guitar instruction DVD but also consider buying several from different artists so you have a broader range of teaching.

Make sure the guitar instruction DVD you choose fits your current skill level, as well as the level you want to reach. If you were a beginner, then you would need to know the basics such as positioning and guitar tuning. However, if you have played for years but want to learn some of the newer techniques of playing, then you need an intermediate DVD. Of course, many of the better products on the market today are bundled, meaning they provide hours of lessons for various levels of guitar playing. A good guitar instruction DVD would be packed with helpful information while providing easy-to-follow and fun instruction.
